There are many mysteries in Russian fairy tales.
For example, here is one of them. Many fairy tales (including the famous Pushkin ones, taken from the stories of the nanny Arina Rodionovna, a Russian woman) talk about what kind of children were born on our land in the past: They have “arms up to the elbows in gold, legs up to the knees in silver, and there are white stars on the braids." And also “the moon shines under the scythe, and the star burns in the forehead.”

Recently I came across a transcript of these sayings ("Russian Rituals and Holidays" by G. Buenok).
So, “hands up to the elbows in gold” is interpreted as golden, skillful hands. Legs knee-deep in silver. These are healthy children, because in early spring they were already running barefoot and in early May they were running, rolling and tumbling in the dew. This May dew was considered healing and health-improving.

“A star is burning in the forehead” is a clear, bright state of mind. The star is the sun. Just as the sun and stars shine clearly, so does the bright state of mind.

“For braids, white stars mean wavy (curly) white (blond) hair.

Try looking at your hair in the sun. If they are chestnut, then you will see brown or red stars on each hair. White stars, respectively, white hair.

“The moon shines under the scythe” - The month in the rear means the night is ending, respectively, the star on the forehead means early morning. It can be interpreted as getting up early with the star, going to bed at the end of the night, with the month.

One day there was some kind of program on TV on Channel One on the topic of tolerance in Russia. The citizen who spoke argued that Pushkin was a lousy writer, and Lermontov was generally an ardent fascist, since he spoke badly about the Chechens, and in the novel “Mtsyri” he generally called Georgians cowardly.
Then he switched to Russian fairy tales and said that it is necessary to remove Christmas trees and snow from them, because various black children who do not have snow and Christmas trees at home suffer and suffer, and this directly infringes on their rights and is completely intolerant towards them .
Finally, he also managed to throw mud at the Russian Orthodox Church, saying that this organization is openly fascist, and it needs to live in peace and friendship with Satanists, love and respect them, because they also have rights.
Maybe there's something I don't understand? How does such reasoning leak into the central channels? Who benefits from such performances? What's going on with the world...?

In the draft manuscript "Tales of the Fisherman and the Fish" A.S. Pushkin contains the following episode, which was not included by Pushkin in the final text:

There is a note in the manuscript: “Serbian Song 18.” This note means that Pushkin intended to include it in the “Songs of the Western Slavs.”
The fairy tale and poetic meter are similar to this cycle.
The plot of the tale is taken from the Pomeranian fairy tale “About a Fisherman and His Wife.”
Pushkin apparently attributed its origin to the ancient inhabitants of Pomerania, the Slavs "Pomeranians".
Pushkin, freely altering the fairy tale, replaced the Western European flavor with Russian folk coloring.

This is probably why he excluded the episode about the old woman who became the “Pope” from the final edition.
